Sonal Somani

she/her · Master's Graduate from KU Leuven, Belgium · sonalm300@gmail.com

My current interest sits at the intersection of Analytics (Product/Consumer/Business) and Psychology.
In 5.5 years of my professional career, I gained hands-on experience in data analytics and engineering across Retail and FMCG sectors. At the core of this work was uncovering and translating brand insights into decisions, and communicating them to stakeholders at every level.

I’ve worked day to day with colleagues from over 12 nationalities, building solid intercultural competence. People I’ve worked with describe me as curious, collaborative, and biased towards action.

I’m skilled in SQL, Python, R, Excel, Power BI, and I’m familiar with Amplitude and A/B testing.

In my next role, I aim to bring a perspective that blends psychological insight with data-driven problem-solving, leveraging my psychology master’s and prior technical experience.

In terms of languages, I speak English and Hindi with bilingual fluency and Dutch at basic level (certified by CLT Language Institute, Belgium) with plans to learn further.

What else do I love?

Solo Travelling! I’ve been lucky to solo travel across several European countries, discovering myself in the process and learning about the many different ways people live in this world.

Other than that, I enjoy reading and practising yoga, something that’s been a part of my life since middle school.

A few moments from the beautiful places I’ve explored!
